I love this microwave. It is, by far, the best microwave I've ever owned.

It cooks food extremely fast, doesn't cook items as it defrosts, is easy to use and looks great! Function-wise, it's a top-notch item.

It also has a neat gimmick, the barcode reader. The reader has most items pre-programmed and programming it with new barcodes is fairly easy. It even prompts you to stir items when they need to be stirred. For items with two cooking steps, you can even program in two steps.

However, the barcode reader is, for me, fairly useless. I don't eat microwaveable meals. I only use a Microwave for defrosting frozen items and re-heating meals.

I rarely have the opportunity to use the reader and when I do, it's on frozen vegetables. This is where the barcode reader begins to flounder a bit. It takes multiple passess to read the barcode on frozen packages. This makes it pretty worthless.

This microwave fits very well in my all stainless steel kitchen. Also, every person who visits my house is extremely impressed with the bar code reader function. The data base has most of the products I use at home, and apparently I would be able to have updates if I bought an extra network card to connect this Microwave to the Internet!

In 1997 my dad was punching buttons randomly to heat a meal and this was born. I then tried to go through an idea patent company but they wanted money to help me so my mom in her infinite wisdom lied to me and said she saw the product one morning on Good Morning America. The dream died and I'm broke and I haven't spoken to my mother since the product came out. To whomever patented this, good job. I see you didn't have cynical liars in your way.

Also, I made it better - my idea had a "rolodex" of extra barcodes for the consumer to program themselves for things like coffee or re-heating things by inputting the settings once and labeling the corresponding barcode.
