Comment: I got this bread machine new for Christmas a year ago. From the get go, it didn't seem to have much kneading power, but it seemed to work well enough to make bread. So, I kept it. Now, a year later, it has died and won't work at all. It probably did have something wrong from the beginning.

Summary: Awesome machine 2010-03-07
Comment: I used one of these machines until VERY recently, when I foolishly sat it in an unstable position and it fell off the cabinet top. It laid on the floor, sideways, smashed and bent...even the bread pan was bent, and it was still trying to finish its cycle...it just kept churning away. Can't say I had it more than a year, but I did use it at least once a day, on the average. I don't cook in my bread oven, I just use it to contain the mess of making bread and pasta while I cook other things, as space is at a premium in my little kitchen. I will admit that upon smashing my breadman pro, I went ahead and "upgraded" to a more "versatile" machine...although, that waits to be seen. But the Breadman pro is a great machine with jam, pasta, and dough settings that allow more experienced bread makers to enjoy its convenience and versatility just as readily as beginners. I have heard some complaints on several models about professional bread-maker level types having issues with the lack of versatility in stopping and starting cycles but, even though I can't claim to function at that level, I managed to alter my favorite receipts around the machines timing and have successfully added just about anything I want...usually with only one experimental run. This truly is an awesome machine...I love it...loved it. And if my new "upgraded" model turns out to be a joke, I'll "downgrade" to this again in a heartbeat.

Summary: So far, so good! 2010-03-05
Comment: I purchased this to replace an older machine I had because this one makes 2lb loaves. I usually make whole wheat/wheat germ bread which is a dense loaf of bread. But this machine makes it perfectly. I've made about 6 loaves so far with no problems. It's settings are fool proof.

Comment: Stopped working right after a few uses. Does not brown properly and the finished loaf is almost half the size it should be. Tried several different flours, including special bread flour, and still no success.
