Generously sized at 12 by 17 inches, this rack comes in handy during baking time--for instance, when cookies need to be elevated and cooled so their bottoms don't become soggy. The rack can also be used in a large roasting pan to lift poultry or a meat roast off the bottom of the pan, ensuring even browning. Nonstick, it won't tear either a delicate crust or a turkey's skin. If necessary, scour this rack with a nonabrasive cleanser and a nylon or plastic scrubber; hand wash with mild detergent to preserve the nonstick surface. --Fred Brack

This Calphalon Commercial Nonstick Cooling Rack is larger than most "cookie racks." It is 12-in. x 17-in. So not only can one of these cooling racks hold a tray full of baked cookies, but also it can support a large pan of lasagna or peach cobbler, for example. You can also use this rack inside of a baking pan in the oven, but I would not recommend its use for the roasting of poultry, game, or meat--instead use one of the Calphalon nonstick roasting racks that are designed for this purpose. Take care with washing this rack by hand. The nonstick coating is quite durable, but you will want to use a mild detergent and a nylon scrubber. Try to buy at least two of these cooling racks if you plan to bake a lot of cookies.

This is an excellent cooling rack! Certainly a must have if you like to bake, especially cookies! The wires are a good size for cooling. They are flat rather than round, which I love, the flat surface gives more firm support to your cookies. The nonstick finish is very easy to clean. I have 2 and am considering ordering 2 more. It is also to nice to cool baked items on this rack with it is still in the pan, it allows the bottom to cool much better then if it was just sitting on your counter. Highly recommended!

I use this as a cooling rack and it works well. It is a bit hard to handwash (I don't have a dish washer). Good size although the wires are a bit thick for things like cake, this is more for meat.
