Summary: Not for cooks in elevations over 2000 Ft 2010-01-08
Comment: Bought this last year and tried about 5-6 recipes several times, at different loaf sizes, using recipes that came with the machine as well as out of reliable cookbooks. No luck. Every loaf collapsed and baked into a dense, inedible mound of dryness. Tried to return it, but had passed the Amazon return time. Cuisinart was not particularly helpful--made us return and try another machine twice even though I explained that I thought the issue had to do with the rise times programmed as part of the equipment, not the product itself. Fortunately, since we live in California, the shipping back and forth costs were paid by the company (CA law). Finally, after the third return, they gave us credit, which we ended up using on a different product. That nonsense took a year and many phone calls to negotiate! As a longtime Cuisinart customer, I found their customer service lacking in quality. Since then, I have started baking by hand, using a wet dough recipe from the PBS show America's Test Kitchen. Also considering trying the cookbook, _Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day_--as making bread is relatively easy--but the timing is the hard part--while adapting some "high elevation" tweaking to the recipes (didn't grow up baking at high elevations so that has been a learning curve). The low star rating is for the issues we faced with Cuisinart in returning the product, which does not adapt to high elevation climates. I wish Cuisinart would address this issue by building better time options into the machine design.

Summary: LOVE IT!!! 2010-01-08
Comment: Had this for about 1 week and can't get enough! So easy to use (I'm technically challenged) just put the ingredients in, set the size and the color crust and push start. I'm looking forward to making the more "specialty" breads (comes w/ a ton of recipies) and pizza dough. Highly recommend.
Have had this over 1 month now, and can't get enough. Rosemary bread and sun-dried tomato and mozzarella breads are exceptionally good. Had a little trouble with the whole wheat breads - dough was not mixing enough - but played around with the water amounts and now seems good.

Summary: Nothing short of excellent 2010-01-07
Comment: Initally bought an Oster breadmaker on a Black Friday special but had to return it because of collapsing loaves of bread by the end of baking. Got this one since we liked the idea of baking bread at home. What a difference. Have made multiple loaves of bread from the included recipe book and they have all turned out perfect. Love the feature to remove the paddle although it works fine if you do not since we make many loaves on the delay timer so we have fresh bread in the morning. The machine looks and feels sturdy. would highly recomend this to anybody looking for a solid breadmaker

Summary: Wife became a bread master 2010-01-02
Comment: Absolutely great product. Home-made, you-know-what-is-in-it breads is a hit in our family now. This item is easy to use and produces pretty doggone good breads...from white to wheat.
We (my wife ;) primarily does whole wheat breads, with the occasional white variant. Everything, thus far, has turned out great. Easy to use with great results. NOTE: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU BEGIN. New people TRULY need to read it. It gives important information that you need to know. READ!
The ONLY problem I have with this machine is the beeping. Yes, being 'beeped' to inform that it's time to add seeds, nuts, etc. is great. BUT, the annoying part is that it will NOT SHUT UP! It does a series of 5 beeps FOUR TIMES to inform you to add your extra ingredients. Great! Except, if you're there at the first set of beeps to add, the doggone machine will CONTINUE TO BEEP the remaining 3 times! Hitting the button does nothing! This continues to occur at the six-beep mark (to fondle the dough). Only the final beep mode responds to the button to SHUSH.
So, all-in-all, this bread machine rocks. If Cuisinart can enhance it with a "SHUSH...IVE ADDED IT" feature, it would be perfect.
