Amazon.com Review

Avoid the messy transition from bakeware to serveware with Kaiser’s 10-inch glass-bottom springform pan. The glass base of this versatile pan functions effectively in the oven while finished edges and a cut-resistant surface enable it to double as a simple serving piece. The springform loop, constructed of a durable black metal, absorbs and distributes heat evenly for uniform results. Its nonstick coating releases food easily and cleans with minimal effort. You must use wooden, plastic, or coated utensils. The pan’s exterior ring features a small groove located at its base, designed to securely hug the glass bottom when latched. To release tension, simply pull back the steel buckle and the base will be freed. The glass bottom is dishwasher-safe; hand wash metal exterior and avoid using abrasive detergents or steel wool. This pan is manufactured in Germany, and the springform buckle carries Kaiser’s lifetime warranty. --Amy Arnold

I used my normal cheesecake recipe but found the Kaiser spring form to be too shallow to accomodate the entire recipe. I didn't measure it before hand, as it was a 10" pan like my CHEAP one. SO, in the future, I am afraid that for THAT one fabulous cheesecake recipe I will have to rely on my cheaper 10" pan. It WAS nice to have the glass bottom upon which to cut and serve the dessert. I would have given it five stars if it had been an inch and a half deeper. It just never occurred to me that the pan did not have the capacity I needed.

I couldn't be any happier with this product. I had just replaced my old metal bottom springform pan with a nice new one, about 3 weeks before the arrival of the glass bottom springform pan, used it once and gave it to my sons girlfriend. I was so happy with the new one that I bought two more for gifts. Both of the friends that I gave them to just love them. The cheesecake never tasted so good. I was a little concerned at first because it wasn't as deep as my old one but every thing was fine in the end.

I have used this many times already! It bakes perfectly and is easy to clean. I have had so many pans in the past. I hated the slight metal flavor I was getting from them. With the glass bottom, I don't have that problem anymore. And, I don't have to worry about cutting my cakes on the glass. The metal bottoms got scratched. Love this pan!

Okay, now that I have used this pan several more times - The coating is flaking off everytime I wash it. It hasn't come off on my cheesecakes so far. I am sure it will begin rusting where the metal is bare now. I guess I am still in search of the perfect springform pan. :( Love the glass bottom still; maybe it will fit on other metal-bottomed pans.
