Now you CAN OBTAIN the perfect delicate crust (even whole wheat)from baking in this precise pan (obviously, depending on your RECIPE). Anyway, I love my 12-inch pan for making wonderful 2-lb loaves, form my Sunbeam Auto Bread Machine (model 5891); also something I adore. BAKING TIP: Here's ANOTHER way to form a 2-lb of dough. Remove the KNEADED dough and divide into 2 equal portions; set one aside. Return the other to the machine and with the DOUGH CYCLE, to knead in reconstituted dehydrated apple bits, raisins or Craisins (or better yet, a bit of all three!). REPEAT or leave the other portion plain. Shape both into smaller, separate loaves. Place each - end to end into the sprayed loaf pan and bake. This way, you get 2 small loaves, baked in the same pan. This review is from: Kaiser La Forme 12-Inch Loaf Pan (Kitchen) I bake bread every other week. I am single so a loaf lasts a good long time. I've been using a standard 1 1/2-pound loaf pan (Chicago Metallic Commercial 1-Pound Loaf Pan). When I slice the bread, each slice is huge--as in really, really big. The pan is 10 X 5 inches. The Kaiser La Forme 12-inch Loaf Pan showed up as a Lightening Deal several weeks ago and I decided to give it a try. The standard loaf pan is 4 1/2 X 8 inches. The Kaiser La Forme is 12 X 4 inches. These slices are the perfect size for normal humans--those with teenage boys should probably stick to the larger loaf pan. The La Forme Loaf Pan is a non-stick pan but it is not Teflon. I am not exactly sure what it is, but it is excellent. I do use a bit of spray oil before I put my loaf in the pan but it slides out and leaves nothing...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Kaiser La Forme 12-Inch Loaf Pan (Kitchen) I used this loaf pan to replace traditional square and round pan. Not only it heats evenly, the nonstick is truly non-stick. i only use a thin layer of butter. it is still made in germany. i baked quick breads w/ fruits, wheat bread and they all turned out very good. had it for over a year now and been very pleased with it. |
