I love this pan. It bakes great bread. The cost is well worth it. The crust is an even texture and color of light brown. I don't use the top much. The first time I didn't oil it well enough and my bread stuck to the lid and when I pulled off the lid it ripped up my bread. To keep the seasoning on the pan I wipe it out right after I take my warm loaf out and then I place it upside down in my still warm oven to make sure it is fully dry, otherwise it will rust.
