These make very cute cupcakes, for adults. Little ones aren't into these shapes, especially when they see butterflies, dinosaurs and bugs sitting on the table. The shape is simple, yet so elegant and make for wonderful visual treats for your of age gueasts, so go ahead and make your fave adult flavored cake mix in this. This pan, as with most others, works well with homemade cake batters, especially dense ones and/or ones that do not call for much leavening. The mix will expand to the shape then deflate some, unlike the mixes with tons of leavening (ie. prepackaged) which overflow. And you'll have less batter left over.

So don't be afraid to spice or liquor things up if that's your thing. Just be sure to keep them away from the little ones.

This pan worked great for my brownies. The veins showed up without any extra effort. Nothing stuck to any of the edges. You should test your cooking time for your recipie. It will take a longer time for the pan to cool so if you are making a second batch work that into your time schedule.
