These pans are by far the favorite. They make a beautiful med. sized loaf. So many pans are too wide and the bread comes out looking flat and pathetic. This will be the 5th and 6th ones I've purchased. I've had my other pans for about 10 years. These brown the bread beautifully and evenly. I waited to purchase 2 more because they seem rather pricey compared to what you might catch on sale at a discount store but don't bother with the other types (I did and it was a disappointment). Make the investment--you won't be sad you did. I have the longer 12inch as well and they are wonderful too. They just make a much MUCH longer loaf, which is probably hard for most to find bags for. Don't waste your money on a cheap pan if you are going to the trouble to bake real food. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Norpro 8 Inch Nonstick Bread Pan (Kitchen) These work amazingly well for baking bread evenly. I'd been using glass loaf pans but the bread didn't always bake evenly along the entire loaf. These work great! 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Norpro 8 Inch Nonstick Bread Pan (Kitchen) I read the previous reviews and bought accordingly. The pans baked well, and were a bit smaller than others I have owned and used, but that was not a bad thing. The loaves baked and browned well.
However, two stars are lost due to the product rusting on its first run through the dishwasher (before I used them; I always wash anything first food related). I cannot stand for bakeware to rust and I actually skipped other products because someone mentioned they rusted. I would have avoided this as well. I will hand wash them (they are small) from now on. To be precise, the top edge that is rolled back, there is a wire frame that the edge is rolled onto, this is what probably rusted and leaked rust into the dishwasher, although the emblem stamped into the bottom had a small amount of rust evident as well. |
