This was a gift replacing a 16 year old, but still working, Zorjurshi. I wanted a machine that turned out a horizontal loaf rather than a vertical one. I first tried the Oatmeal bread recipe in the Oster book. It came out perfectly. Next I tried using Bob's Old Mill gluten free bread mix for hand or machine baking. At first I was a little worried as during the second knead I was not getting a smooth round ball. I added a some flour a tablespoon at a time. It still did not look right but it came out perfectly. Next time I may not add the extra flour to see what happens. I will continue to experiment with gluten free recipes so I do not have to rely on the mix as it is only a little less costly than a loaf of GF bread. The main point here is that the Oster is a good value all purpose bread machine. The instructions that came with the Oster said to use bread flour only. The mix I used had among other things, bean flour, and I still got a yummy tasting bread. I have read that one...Read more

I LOVE this bread machine!! I have had many in the past years and really like this one! it has a rapid 58 min setting that is great for hot dinner bread. It's wonderful! A+++ But, my paddle was thrown away with an old loaf of bread and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement. My own stupid fault.

Easy to use machine, pretty dummy proof actually.

My review is for 5 loaves of bread. After the 5th, the pan started popping out of the brackets when mixing and kneading and even on the bake cycle of the last loaf. VERY DISAPPOINTING since you can't use it unless the pan is fixed into place.

It produces an odd shaped vertical loaf that usually does NOT brown on top. I live at 7500 feet and in its short kitchen career in my house, I was unable to make one loaf that did not fall.

I am sending it back, but will probably not replace it with the same bread maker. The fact that the clips that hold in the bread pan stretched so quickly makes it a 2-Star or less Too flimsy if you are planning on making bread every couple of days like we do.

Oster is usually a good brand too. I've had many other Oster appliances like their All-In-One machine that was a freekin' tank. This one, not so good. I've already written them directly to find out if this...Read more
