It's beautiful, brown on the inside and olive on the outside. I would have no reservations setting it on the table for company. For the maiden voyage I just made a loaf of cinnamon bread, and it rose and browned wonderfully. Since the description only spoke of quick breads I was hesitant, but if you're a yeast bread baker buy this pan! The only downside is that it's made in China (but most things are these days), so I hope that the quality control is strict because it is glazed and I wouldn't want any toxic colorants to be used in the glaze. (I bought this to get away from my aluminum loaf pans, so I really don't want to trade one toxin for another.) 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful: By mamaozzy (Denver) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Paula Deen 9 Inch x 5 Inch Stoneware Loaf Pan, Green (Kitchen) I love this loaf pan! There are so many uses for this ceramic dish. Meatloaf, bread and cakes work well in this. I will be buying more Paula Deen cookware in the future. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I LOVE making beer bread for myself and friends, but my old pan (an old Kitchen Essentials Calphalon pan given to me by my mom) had started to develop rust in one corner. Not one to risk harming my friends, I threw it out and went looking for a new one. I usually don't trust the celebrity names when it comes to kitchen things. But my family is from the South and if I'm trusting anyone in the baking department, it's Paula Deen. So I bought this. It has now made about a half dozen loaves of beer bread, and I can thoroughly say that I love this pan. It's amazing. First, it looks gorgeous. Second, it heats evenly and fully. Third, the pan looks as new as the day I got it.
It is dishwasher safe, but I don't encourage putting it in the dishwasher. Washing by hand is better with stoneware especially, and don't use the scouring side of the sponge. Use the softer side. Not only will it keep it looking beautiful, it also lengthens its life...Read more |
