Here's a video of me using the knife for the first time, right out of the box.
I use it on 3 kinds of bread, a peach and a tomato, then I show you what it looks like after going through the dishwasher.

There is not much which can be said about any tool which has only one or two functions. Hammers pound nails, wrenches tighten bolts, and knives cut.
In our home, we use the Wüsthof brand of knives, and we have always been quite happy with them. They are extremely sharp, and well made.
So, I thought I would do a comparison, side-by-side video of the Tom Douglas by Pinzon Kai serrated bread knife, against the serrated bread knife by Wüsthof which we already have.
The video shows the Tom Douglas knife being taken out of its original packaging. It then shows it cutting quite nicely into a loaf of standard French bread. The Wüsthof knife is then taken out and shown to the camera, and then a similar cut is made.
I was able to make both cuts quickly, and with the level of control I expect from higher level cutlery. As far as cut quality goes, I can't tell any difference between the two knives. Maybe a...Read more

I have wanted a good bread knife for a LONG time, but I just didn't want to fork out the bucks for the matcher to my set (Wusthof Grand Prix II 8-Inch Bread Knife) so when I saw this offered as the Lightning deal, I had to get it.
I was super excited to try it, but of course wanted to give it a cursory wash before using. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention and sliced into my finger (requiring five stitches at the ER)...so PLEASE BE SUPER CAREFUL AS THIS KNIFE IS SUPER SHARP! Yeah yeah yeah, "knives are sharp" is not a new idea...but I have used and cleaned sharp knives for 20 years and never had a cut this bad. So if it can happen to me, it can happen to you.
That said, this knife is pure awesome. It cuts through my favorite Roasted Garlic Sourdough from Costco like a hot knife through butter. I have plenty of...Read more
